The Salem witch trials were an inn of hearings in court, to consign and prosecute people of witchcraft and/or demonic involvement. From June by dint of September, nineteen women and men in Salem were hung after existence convicted of witchcraft. Hundreds of other townspeople were also confront with accusations of witchcraft and thrown in jail for months. On meet 1, 1692, Sarah Goode, Sarah Osborne, and a striver named Tituba, were the first three women arrested for witchcraft. Betty Parris, daughter of the clergyman Samuel Parris, became bizarrely ill. She would dart around, launch under furniture, contorted herself in amazing positions, and would constantly grumble of fever.
